The recipients of the 2021 Golden Acorn awards for outstanding volunteer service were announced at the March 24th PTSA general membership meeting.

Calling for Nominations for the 2021 Outstanding Educator Award!
Is there an educator (teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator, faculty member) who has gone above and beyond for your IMS student and has had a positive influence in his or her life?

The Outstanding Educator Award is your chance to say thank you. It was created to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding educational opportunities for youth that are above and beyond the normal scope of their job. Please talk with your students about the Outstanding Educator Award and personally nominate or encourage them to nominate someone.

Influence the Choice Events


In the spirit of their mission to support the physical, emotional and social wellness of our youth, Influence the Choice has announced their first annual Spring Fun Run!  Registration is open now through April 5. The virtual event happens April 5-30 with a Finisher event on May 1. Find out more HERE.


The Influence the Choice Student Video Contest is now open!
 The contest gives students the opportunity to positively influence each other by producing a 2-minute public service announcement. There are CASH prizes including a grand prize of $1000 and is open to Middle and High School students. Find out more HERE.

What IS Influence the Choice?
Influence the Choice (ITC) is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to preventing substance abuse and promoting the mental, physical and social wellness of our youth. They are affiliated with many community partners including the Issaquah PTSA Council (the council that the IMPTSA local unit belongs to). They conduct the Healthy Youth Survey along with other district wide efforts including the TECH (Teens Encouraging Community Health) Group made up of middle and high school students in the ISD.
