We could really use your help! We need 10 volunteers for each timeslot to help with vision and hearing screening on September 27, 28 and 29. If you would like to volunteer for the full day, please select both a morning and afternoon timeslot on the same day. Check out the latest issue of  Cultural Bridges  from the Issaquah Schools Foundation to learn more about what the foundation has been doing.   Student Academic Grants To improve accessibility to academic support services, the Foundation is offering grants for students who need help paying for tutoring and other professional academic assistance programs.  This academic grant program is available to Issaquah School District students and will be awarded up to $500 per student.  The deadline to apply is February 14 . Details and application link  here .    Mental Health As part of their focus on Mental Health, the Foundation is funding a one-day intensive program on  Youth Mental Health First Aid  for teachers ... read full article

In April the Issaquah School district will be asking voters to approve the renewal of the EP&O levy, the Transportation Levy, and the Capital Levy (Technology and Capital) which are expiring December 31, 2022. October is National Principal’s Month. We are celebrating our amazing principal, Carrie Reckling!   Principal Reckling is originally from Utah and before becoming a principal she was a middle school Spanish teacher. Outside of being a principal, she loves to spend time with her family taking 1-day trips exploring the PNW.   Coming back to school after more than a year and a half of remote schooling, Principal Reckling said one of the biggest impacts she has seen is how happy everyone is to be with one another and how much students and staff equally missed the face-to-face social interactions. ... read full article
