WalkAbout Volunteers Needed Year Round!
Volunteers are needed for the WalkAbout program for the 2022-23 school year!   We are excited to invite parent and community volunteers to assist with lunchtime WalkAbout for the 2022-23 school year.  This program was started many years ago and was scaled back during the pandemic.  It's fully returned now, and is a wonderful way to support and get involved with the school.  And, our school staff and students really appreciate it.   What is it?  It's additional adult volunteer presence during high activity times to help staff be able to focus on the most pressing needs, knowing that there are other ... read full article

Salmon Days Festival is quickly approaching and it is the IM PTSA's biggest fundraising event of the year.  As always, it takes a village to make this weekend a success.  We are looking for volunteers to help us provide paid parking for Salmon Days guests at IMS and IHS parking lots on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 . Students who emulate this theme are nominated by their teachers for an “MVP” award. One in Six Youth Aged 6 - 17 experience a Mental Health Condition.   NAMI provided a 1 hr presentation on November 1 for all IMS parents and caregivers.   The presentation covered: compassion, mental health stigma, signs and symptoms, how to access mental health resources  at school and in the community, activities for coping strategies, creating a support group, and how to become a NAMI youth ambassador.   Click here to view the presentation . DO I NEED MY OWN LAPTOP? NO! Do NOT bring your own laptop. The school wants all students using school issued laptops.   WILL I GET A LOCKER? Yes!  Everyone will be assigned a locker this year, but use of lockers is optional and backpacks will be allowed in the classroom.   DO I NEED A 3 RING BINDER? No!
