SCHOOL OF LIFE- VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!!
The IM PTSA has been asked to help run for the School of Life video journal program at IMS this year. Volunteers have a choice of shifts to choose from and the shifts are broken down into roughly 2-hour time slots covering 4th and 5th periods and 6th and 7th periods for the first 3 weeks in October.
More information about the volunteer responsibilities can be found on the sign up genius webpage. The volunteer sign ups are broken down into weeks by grade, please consider taking a shift or two if you have the time in your schedule. Thank you.
Have you had the pleasure of walking our halls and seeing our kids and staff loving IMS in this beautiful fall weather??
Please welcome 45 newly trained walkers! Many of them will hit the ground running this very week! New walkers, don't fret, you will be paired with a veteran walker for your first shift. Thank you for joining our team!
Veteran walkers! A huge thank you for all of the extra walking you have done this fall so far. You have played an important part in helping to transition new sixth graders to the middle school experience in a positive way and Kerri and Kristen are so grateful. We are all grateful knowing that the same grace and spirit of cooperation will be there as we welcome new walkers onto the team.
The remainder of the calendar year has been put into the WALKABOUT volunteer calendar. Please---feel free to sign up as much as you want, or just once. We love your commitment at any level! SIGN UP HERE!!
ITEMS NEEDED!!
Juli Holst, the school nurse is in need of clothing items to support female students who begin their monthly cycles during the school day. She is looking for female underwear sizes 5 through 8 and stretchy styles of pants (yoga and legging styles preferred) in sizes appropriate for IMS female students.
Please check with staff before leaving clothing at the school – the nurse has limited space in her office for storage. Contact Juli Holst here.
ARE YOU AN ANGEL??
Thank you to all the families who have contributed to The Angel Program thus far this year! This program is designed to engage the generous community of families at IMS to ensure that every child at our school has certain basic needs met, in order to maximize his or her learning and social experience. Making a donation to this program has a direct, positive impact on a student right here in our own neighborhood. We are still actively seeking contributions to The Angel Program. If you have not made a donation or if you’d like to make an additional donation, there is still time to do so. You can go to IM PTSA and click “join/donate”. A donation of $250 will support one student over the school year, but any amount will help, and don’t forget your corporate matching funds!
