General Membership Meeting -This Wednesday!
Please come and join us for the February PTSA General Membership Meeting. It will be held this Wednesday, February 15th at 10:30 am in the IMS Library. We will have a chance to mingle, get caught up on current news, ask questions and of course hear from Principal Seth Adams.
Party Planners Needed!- Volunteer Opportunity!
The PTSA is looking for chairs for our 8th Grade Celebration which will occur on the afternoon of June 5th. Each year, after 8th grade promotion, the class attends a special off-site celebration for the afternoon. This year, for the first time, we will be traveling to the UW, where the kids will be treated to an afternoon in the Hec Ed recreation center, complete with bowling, video games, dancing and more. Chairs work with ASB Secretary Julie Morgan to sell tickets at lunches in May, decorate the venue and deliver snacks and goodies as well as staff the event with volunteers. If you are an event planner with good organization, this is the job for you! It's so much fun to celebrate the achievements of our 8th graders! If you would like more information about this job, please contact Tara Moe .
Please help us with the donation of an Xbox 360, wii or PlayStation.
In their continuing efforts to incentivize middle school kids, the administration is looking for the donation of the following:
A new iPad, gaming console or other "big ticket" item for raffle once or twice a year. Kids can save their Panther Bucks and trade them for a raffle ticket and chance to win!
Used but functioning Wii, PlayStation or Xbox 360 as another incentive. Kids can earn time during lunch to play age appropriate games with their friends through the Panther Buck program.
Any questions please direct them to Kristen Allen Bentsen. Catch Up Cafe - Volunteer Opportunity
Used but functioning Wii, PlayStation or Xbox 360 as another incentive. Kids can earn time during lunch to play age appropriate games with their friends through the Panther Buck program.
The PTSA has partnered with the school to help run Catch Up Café, a lunchtime program that allows kids to catch up on missing assignments while eating their lunch. One volunteer is needed to help take attendance, get kids engaged in their missing work and track down kids who forget to come. A great way to interact with kids and help the school. A teacher will also always be in attendance so no discipline is required of you and you do not have to be a subject expert. For more details and to sign up, PLEASE CLICK HERE . Please contactTara Moe with questions.Golden Acorn & Outstanding Educator Awards

Join us for a fascinating talk with John O'Sullivan, author of Changing the Game. Conventional wisdom holds that youth sports are a positive experience for our children, yet 70% of children drop out of organized athletics by the age of 13. Youth sports has become an ultra-competitive, adult centered enterprise that has taken the “play” out of “Play ball” for far too many kids, but we can change that. In this talk, you will learn:
- How to Keep Your Kids in Sports!
- How to Give your Child a Competitive Edge
- To Push and Praise Your Kids to Perform Well
- 3 Ways to Change Your Kids Sports Experience for the Better
- How To Motivate Your Kids to Take Ownership for Sports
- How to Help, and not Hinder, Their Performance Through the Things You Say and Do
Free for Issaquah PTA/PTSA members. For non-members, suggested donation of $10 at the door. Save your seats by clicking the 'Register' button.
