Catch Up Cafe - Volunteer Opportunity

The PTSA has partnered with the school to help run Catch Up Café, a lunchtime program that allows kids to catch up on missing assignments while eating their lunch. One volunteer is needed to help take attendance, get kids engaged in their missing work and track down kids who forget to come.  A great way to interact with kids and help the school.  A teacher will also always be in attendance so no discipline is required of you and you do not have to be a subject expert.  For more details and to sign up, PLEASE CLICK HERE . Please contact Tara Moe with questions.

2017 Community Values Survey

The Issaquah PTSA Council is conducting a Community Values Survey within the Issaquah School District attendance area.  We are seeking your perspective on five Value Statements based on your experience in the Issaquah School District.  All community members are encouraged to participate including parents, teachers, students, and community members who do not have students in the local schools.  This survey closes on January 31 and the results will be shared with the ISD Administration, the ISD School Board, and the Issaquah Education Association in a presentation open to the public in early February. COMMUNITY VALUES SURVEY 2017

Join us for a fascinating talk with John O'Sullivan, author of Changing the Game. Conventional wisdom holds that youth sports are a positive experience for our children, yet 70% of children drop out of organized athletics by the age of 13. Youth sports has become an ultra-competitive, adult centered enterprise that has taken the “play” out of “Play ball” for far too many kids, but we can change that. In this talk, you will learn:

 - How to Keep Your Kids in Sports!

- How to Give your Child a Competitive Edge

- To Push and Praise Your Kids to Perform Well

- 3 Ways to Change Your Kids Sports Experience for the Better

 - How To Motivate Your Kids to Take Ownership for Sports

- How to Help, and not Hinder, Their Performance Through the Things You Say and Do

Free for Issaquah PTA/PTSA members. For non-members, suggested donation of $10 at the door. Save your seats by clicking the 'Register' button.
