Welcome to the new school year!  The Issaquah Middle PTSA has been working to ensure that this will be an extraordinary year for all our students, their families, and the IMS staff.  Here’s a rundown of the important information you’ll need in the coming weeks.

HELP NEEDED WITH PACKET STUFFING **TOMORROW** – 8/28

Come help the PTSA stuff First Day packets that go home with every IMS student on the first day of school.  We’ll be meeting from 10:00 am to noon on Wednesday, August 28!  Parents, this is a great chance for 7th and 8th-grade students to earn volunteer hours, but they need to be accompanied by a parent who also can help.  SIGN UP HERE


 

FALL STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCHEON – 9/3

We’re showing our appreciation for the wonderful IMS staff again this year by providing them with an Italian themed luncheon featuring Maggiano's Little Italy's pastas next Tuesday, Sept. 3!  Please take a moment to visit the sign-up page and pick one of the easy ways you can contribute to the IMS Fall Staff Appreciation Luncheon including shopping-free options: (1) donating easily through Paypal; (2) purchasing beverages; and/or (3) volunteering for set-up/clean-up.  SIGN UP HERE.

All set-up/cleanup volunteers must have a cleared District background check by August 30th. Review the "My Checklist" section for your clearance status once you log on to the volunteer application website.

 


 

LOOKING FOR A DIRECTORY CHAIR

Each year the PTSA creates a student directory with contact information for IMS students.  This directory is made available on the IMPTSA website to PTSA members.  We’re looking for someone who’s familiar with formatting Microsoft Excel spreadsheets – no in-depth knowledge of the program is required.  The Directory Chair simply formats the data in the Excel spreadsheet we receive from the school, so this is a straightforward project with a well-defined timeframe.  Questions?  Contact Carla Geraci at president@issaquahmiddleptsa.org.


 

VOLUNTEERING AT IMS

We would love to have you consider volunteering at IMS.  All volunteers must complete the District’s online registration and be approved before they can volunteer at school.  If you were approved to volunteer last year, you still need to sign in to the District’s online system, complete the training, and update the required information.  Please remember there is a delay between completing the volunteer application and getting approval, so don’t wait till the last minute to start the process.  Click here to sign in.


THE FIRST IMPTSA MEETING OF THE YEAR – 9/25

Join us on September 25th at 10:30 am in the IMS Commons for the first PTSA General Membership Meeting of the year.   Meet other parents, learn more about how the IMPTSA helps the IMS community, and be the first to know what’s going on at IMS.
