Time is running out! Help us honor our Volunteers - IMS PTSA Awards Golden Acorn
The Golden Acorn Award honors people who have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in our school community. Issaquah Middle School PTSA is a strong and successful partner with IMS due to the wonderful volunteers who step up time and time again to get things done on behalf of students. Please consider nominating anyone you feel should be recognized by the Issaquah Middle School PTSA for their volunteerism within IMS and the community.
2017 recipients: Amy Cancelosi, Cindy Kelm, Pete Norby and Rachel Stoner.
Nominations for the Golden Acorn Award will be accepted until March 9, 2018.
  1. Complete the Golden Acorn online form.
  2. Download the nomination form from the PTSA website.
  3. Pick up a nomination form from the IMS Office.

ParentWiser – Hidden in Plain Sight – Spot signs of at-risk behaviors
March 12th  - Issaquah High School
Open house 6:30-7:30 pm, with a presentation by experts 7:30 to 8:30pm - Adults Only
Would you see the signs of youth alcohol or drug use in your home?  Looks can be very deceiving - especially if you don't know what to look for.  The “Hidden In Plain Sight” initiative helps parents spot signs of at-risk behaviors using an interactive display of a teenager's bedroom.  After walking through the display, participants will learn more about adolescent development and common signs of substance use provided by professionals in law enforcement, treatment, substance abuse prevention, and other experts and parents.
ADULTS ONLY.  Open house 6:30-7:30pm, with a presentation by experts 7:30-8:30pm.

IMS PTSA Outstanding Educator Award
Is there an educator (teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator, faculty member) who has gone above and beyond for your IMS student and has had a positive influence in his or her life? The Outstanding Educator Award is your chance to say thank you. It was created to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding educational opportunities for youth that are above and beyond the normal scope of their job. Please talk with your students about the Outstanding Educator Award and personally nominate or encourage them to nominate someone.
2017 recipients: Traci Brewster, Anthony Jackson, Sandie Schertzl and Julia Weed.

Don’t miss this opportunity to cement your student’s legacy at IMS with an engraved brick in the front walkway. Purchase 4”x 8” bricks for your child, your family - current or future alumni. ONLINE IMS Directory now available!!
If you are an IMS PTSA member you can go online to the IMS PTSA website and access the directory. Use it for holiday cards, playdates, invitations etc. It has only been made accessible to those folks who have purchased an IMS PTSA membership. If you are not a member and want access to this awesome perk you can become a PTSA member HERE!! ANGEL PROGRAM
The Angel Program provides funds for IMS students to ensure their basic needs are fulfilled. It is a confidential behind-the-scenes PTSA program made possible by monetary donations from the parents of IMS.
Please consider donating to this program donate on-line or send/deliver a check made out to the IMS PTSA to the school and reference the Angel Program in the memo line.
The Angel program might need some extra supplies (furniture, bedding, toiletries, etc.) throughout the school year.  Please sign-up for these extra items and add your name to the - Angel Student Assistance program - on the volunteer interest page.
If you are in need of help this year, please contact the school counselors directly, the Angel Program would love to support your child.
