Welcome IMS Parents and Community Members

I hope everyone has had a great start to the school year!  On behalf of the Issaquah Middle PTSA, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those who are new to our vibrant school community. As the PTSA President, I am honored to kick off the 2023-2024 school year and share some of the exciting plans we have in store.

I believe that the strength of our community lies in its diversity, unity, and shared goals. Our PTSA is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where parents, teachers, students, and community members work together to enhance the educational, social, and emotional experiences for every child. This year, we're committed to engaging the IMS community like never before, and we invite you to be an integral part of this journey.

We have a variety of engaging events and initiatives planned throughout the year to create memorable experiences for you and your students. Here's a sneak peek of what's in store:
  • Speaker Series: Our Speaker Series during our General Membership Meetings will bring valuable insights and discussions to the forefront. Our first one is Wednesday, Sep 27 at 6PM in the IMS Library where we will hear from Principal JZ and the ASB President on IMS Culture.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Get involved and make a difference by volunteering. Whether it's assisting with school events or helping to celebrate our staff, your contributions are invaluable. We are currently seeking volunteers for Picture Day on Friday, Sep 8 - Sign up here
  • Pamper the Panther: A special initiative to show appreciation for our hardworking and dedicated IMS staff. Look out for an email coming to your inbox on ways to help with these fun, monthly events.
  • Salmon Days Parking:  Planning on going to Salmon Days?  Support the IMPTSA during our biggest fundraising event of the year by parking at IMS/IHS for $10 per car.  And, we need lots of volunteers to help.  It's a great way for students to get their volunteer hours too (sign-ups coming soon!).
  • Bingo Night on October 27: Get ready for an evening of family fun at this exciting and delightfully eerie event.  Dress up in your best costume and join us for games, prizes, and treats!
  • Multi-Cultural Heritage Fair on March 22: Celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our school community at the Multi-Cultural Heritage Fair. Showcase your heritage, indulge in delicious food, and experience the beauty of our global community.
Whether you're a first-time member or returning supporter, your contributions make a difference through connections with fellow parents and community members, investing in your child's education and well-being, and amplifying our collective voice to work towards creating an exceptional learning and social environment for all students.  If you haven't already joined / renewed your membership, click here to complete now.

Stay tuned and check our website and social media for more updates on upcoming events, meetings, and ways to get involved. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out (president@issaquahmiddleptsa.org).

Let's make this school year truly remarkable so we can grow together, nurture connections, and empower our students to thrive!

Warm regards,
Tracy Cooke
