WalkAbout Training

It's almost here! The once annual, mandatory Walkabout training is Thursday, September 27th at 6:30-8:00pm in the IMS Commons. Training is mandatory for new Walkabout (WAB) volunteers and is a highly recommended refresher course for previous walkers. In addition, it's a great opportunity to get professional insight into the daily life of our middle school students. Between 6:30 and 7:15pm hear from our IMS Administrative team and get details of life at IMS, and then specifics of how "to do" Walkabout from PTSA Coordinators. Ken Wong, Teen Programs Director, Redmond Parks and Rec, is scheduled to speak from 7:15-8:00 pm. Ken is the original facilitator of the Walkabout program at IMS and is very engaging! Those quirky pre-teens will suddenly make sense! A great parent ed opportunity for your evening!

Parents volunteering for Walkabout this year should plan to attend the entire presentation in order to complete the required training.
