SNACK DONATIONS NEEDED FOR FIFTH-GRADE PARENT NIGHT – 3/10

We need our IMS parents to step up to help with the IMS 5th-Grade Parent Information Night next Tuesday, March 10th.  The PTSA is helping our IMS administrators by providing refreshments for the fifth-grade families who'll be welcomed to our school that evening.  Helping is as simple as sending in cookies, granola bars, or other easily bought items.  Please sign up HERE to bring in a snack or help host the table.  Thank you in advance for your help!

A WALKABOUT WELCOME AND THANK YOU

Welcome to the newly trained WalkAbout volunteers from our January 23rd training!  Thank you to the WAB chairs and Principal Reckling for running the training.

And we'd like to give a special shout out to our newly trained walkers who've already jumped in by volunteering for one or more shifts since getting trained:

Ryan B., Lori H., Bala K., Crystal K., Emily N., Gina W., and Rebecca W.

Way to go!  Thank you to all our volunteers who've walked thus far this year.  Your time and dedication are greatly appreciated!

ISSAQUAH MIDDLE PTSA BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2020-21

Our Board of Directors is looking for new members for the 2020-21 school year!  Are you interested in learning more about the school and how the PTSA supports your child?  No prior experience is necessary -- just a desire to build a stronger school community!

To learn more about available positions, please contact Erin Eaton on the Nominating Committee at erin_gilmore@hotmail.com.  Position descriptions are available on the PTSA website here.

CALLING FOR NOMINATIONS OF OUTSTANDING IMS VOLUNTEERS

Each year the Issaquah Middle PTSA presents the Golden Acorn Award to honor outstanding volunteer service to IMS students. Award recipients will be celebrated at the March 25th IMPTSA meeting and then recognized at a district-wide reception in April. The names of recipients will be added to the plaque in the IMS commons, and IMPTSA will contribute $48 in each name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Fund.

Please consider nominating a special volunteer today. Nominees are scored using a weighted rubric considering volunteer service to their PTSA, the Issaquah Council, the District, and Community. Nominations are due THIS FRIDAY, March 6th!

Two ways to submit a nomination:

  1. Online here.
  2. Fill out the nomination form put in the white PTSA box to the right of the Health Room in the IMS front office.

Send any questions to the Golden Acorn committee.

IMS 65TH ANNIVERSARY BRICK CAMPAIGN – BUY YOURS TODAY!

Don’t miss this opportunity to show your support and leave a legacy at IMS by purchasing an engraved 4” x 8” commemorative brick that will be permanently installed at the main entrance to IMS.  Dedicate a brick for your children or make it a celebration of a favorite activity or memory.  Proceeds from the brick sales will support all the programs that the Issaquah Middle PTSA provides, including classroom funds, all-school grants, and the Angel Program.  Your first brick is $65.00 and additional bricks are $60.00.  Click HERE to order online or HERE to download the paper order form.

VOLUNTEERING AT IMS

We would love to have you consider volunteering at IMS.  All volunteers must complete the District’s online registration and be approved before they can volunteer at school.  If you were approved to volunteer last year, you still need to sign in to the District’s online system, complete the training, and update the required information.  Please remember there is a delay between completing the volunteer application and getting approval, so don’t wait till the last minute to start the process.  Click here to sign in.
