What is Panther Passage?
Panther Passage is an annual IMS event where our 8th graders discuss their middle school achievements with a two-person community panel. The students highlight accomplishments in a variety of areas including academics, fine arts, community service and athletics. The students are energized and self-empowered by reflecting back on their growth during their middle school journey.
Every year we are delighted to have strong and enthusiastic participation from the Issaquah community. The collaboration of our education, government, business and civic communities is inspiring. Although no experience is necessary, many of our volunteers are seasoned veterans who validate the 8th graders experiences every year. They listen to the students, ask questions, and then provide positive oral and written comments to each individual. All participants - students, staff and volunteers are amazed at the development of the IMS 8th graders as they prepare to transition to their freshman year of high school.
This year's Panther Passage will be held at IMS from Tuesday, April 17th to Friday, April 27th, 2012 during school hours. We have flexible shifts including early morning and lunchtime hours to make it easier for you to participate. Validators must be over 21 years of age to volunteer. Please click on the Validator Sign-Up link to join us in honoring our 8th grade students’ journey thru middle school.
