IMS Party we need your help
The second IMS ASB party of the year is Friday, April 6th at the end of the school day and volunteers are needed to help chaperone from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.  If you can help please sign up here

Is American masculinity harming our boys, men and society? Research shows that compared to girls, boys in the US are more likely to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, prescribed stimulant medications, fail out of school, binge drink, commit a violent crime, and/or take their own lives.
The Mask You Live In film documentary & discussion ultimately illustrates how we, as a society, can do better to raise a healthier generation of boys and young men.  IH PTSA and ISD invite parents and students of grades 9-12

The "Hidden in Plain Sight"
April 16th  6:30pm - CWU/Sammamish.
For ADULTS only
Can you spot the signs? Looks can be deceiving, especially if you don't know what to look for.  Come to our community-wide Hidden in Plain Sight exhibit and learn from local experts what teens are doing today, how they can hide at-risk behavior, and what to do if you suspect something. 6:30-8:30pm on .  Register at http://ParentWiser.org/events 

Lunch For The Break - Spring Break Edition
Help families in the Issaquah School District during Spring Break when free/reduced lunches aren't available. YOU can help make the vacation fun for kids and lower stress for parents!
We have three options for donating to Lunch for the Break:
- Download the shopping list at com, shop for the food, pack your boxes and deliver to your chosen drop off location. Register as a donor for this option here.
- Donate money to help us purchase produce, bread and other items for Lunch for the Break.
- **New!!** We have a new partnership with Supply All Kids - purchase a food box online and it will be packed and delivered for you! This is a great option if you don't have time to shop, pack and deliver a box, but want to give something tangible. Click here to donate via the Supply All Kids special Lunch for the Break site.
450 boxes are needed by April, 4th!

Multicultural Fair
Tuesday, April 24 at 5:30-8:00 pm
We are excited to announce that IMS is going to have its very first Multicultural Fair. Multicultural Fair is a family event that promotes and showcases the cultural diversity from our school, some examples are: Korea, Mexico, Malaysia, Peru, Pakistan, Sweden, United States to name a few. It will be a night of learning, entertainments, and great food to sample.

Staff appreciation week
Every year we honor our dedicated teachers and staff with a week full of surprises. The time has arrived again! 
The PTSA has planned a week full of activities with special treats, food and gifts. As recognition of their great service, we hope to give each one of the 80 staff members a $10 gift card. You can ask your student to drop the gift card off in the PTSA box in the IMS office.

Last week to nominate - IMS Outstanding Educator.
Is there an educator (teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administrator, faculty member) who has gone above and beyond for your IMS student and has had a positive influence in his or her life? The Outstanding Educator Award is your chance to say thank you. It was created to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding educational opportunities for youth that are above and beyond the normal scope of their job. Please talk with your students about the Outstanding Educator Award and personally nominate or encourage them to nominate someone.
2017 recipients: Traci Brewster, Anthony Jackson, Sandie Schertzl and Julia Weed.
Nominations for Outstanding Educator Award will be accepted until April 6, 2018.
There are multiple ways to submit a nomination:
1. Complete the Outstanding Educator online form.
2. Download the nomination form from the PTSA website.
3. Pick up a nomination form from the IMS Office.
Please email completed forms to rwstoner@outlook.com or drop them off in the PTSA box in the IMS office.

Engraved Bricks are back! Cement your Legacy
Don’t miss this opportunity to cement your student’s legacy at IMS with an engraved brick in the front walkway. Purchase 4”x 8” bricks for your child, your family - current or future alumni. Or make your brick a dedication to or about the school, such as a favorite activity or memory from IMS. Purchase as many as you’d like!

ANGEL PROGRAM
The Angel Program provides funds for IMS students to ensure their basic needs are fulfilled. It is a confidential behind-the-scenes PTSA program made possible by monetary donations from the parents of IMS.
Please consider donating to this program donate on-line or send/deliver a check made out to the IMS PTSA to the school and reference the Angel Program in the memo line.
The Angel program might need some extra supplies (furniture, bedding, toiletries, etc.) throughout the school year.  Please sign-up for these extra items and add your name to the - Angel Student Assistance program - on the volunteer interest page.
If you are in need of help this year, please contact the school counselors directly, the Angel Program would love to support your child.
